Glenn Greenwald late last year had appeared on the BBC’s Newsnight via video link-up. Its presenter, Kirsty Wark, would interview Greenwald. That exchange provided the proof, if any were needed, of the perils of the unthinking parroting of official assertions as indisputable facts. (Being invited to official social functions can be a powerful stupefying narcotic?) The tenor of Wark’s interview betrayed that corporation’s agenda. Unfortunately for Ms Wark the interview did raise and continues to raise the obvious question, based on what criteria did and do people like her get such jobs? To be exposed as incompetent but not be embarrassed is one criterion? And Wark is ‘better’ than most of those in the US, which is telling. Read the rest of this entry »
