…from vietnam to kunduz, ‘accidents’ do happen…Posted: 2015-10-28
…once we say so…
As the US citizenry remains pacified at the thought that their President would commune each Tuesday, ‘Bugsplat Tuesday’, with august personages such as Thomas Aquinas and St Augustine before unleashing death from on high, facts would fail to cooperate, and often. The release of drone files put paid to this precise targeting of ‘bad guys’, an asinine term so beloved of the US corporate media.
With the likely premeditated bombing of that hospital in Kunduz, the US would issue a flurry of contradictory, and even preposterous, excuses with its President finally and glibly proffering some weak tea, ‘a tragic accident’. Again, facts fail to cooperate with the exceptional US policy.
Now comes what few have ever doubted, Evidence Mounts that US Military Knew They Were Bombing Active Hospital As Sarah Lazare of common dreams blog would report – snippets,
The Associated Press provided new evidence Monday that the U.S. military knew that the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan was an active medical facility before they bombed it, bolstering the aid agency’s charge that the attack—which killed at least 30 people—amounted to a war crime.
“A day before an American AC130 gunship attacked the hospital, a senior officer in the Green Beret unit wrote in a report that U.S. forces had discussed the hospital with the country director of the medical charity group, presumably in Kabul, according to two people who have seen the document,” reports journalist Ken Dilanian.
The callous disregard for human life and civilised codes of conduct is not difficult to find. We have this,
“They had broken through that gate in the interests of safety and in the belief that MSF personnel were not on site,” Davis said.
“Unbeknownst to our team there, there were MSF personnel and they were understandably not happy that we had broken that.”
“They did it, they shouldn’t have. They should have coordinated ahead of time and they are going to make it right and make sure that gate is repaired,” Davis added.
Nice. So they are going to fix the gate they had destroyed to enter the hospital they had bombed several times days before. No need to call before, since everyone would have learned their lesson and long since left town? Should we try that again?
Not to be taken lightly, its ally Saudi Arabia (likely future career financier) shows it also is up to a similar feat, MSF Hospital in Yemen Bombed by US-Backed Coalition. And as an MSF official would observe,
“It could be a mistake, but the fact of the matter is it’s a war crime. There’s no reason to target a hospital,” Boucenine continued. “We provided (the coalition) with all of our GPS coordinates about two weeks ago.”
As the song goes, that’s what friends are for. Yes, even wedding parties get that ‘terminal’ treatment. PyschosRUS?
And yes, an excerpt of the Drone Papers would shed some light on the giant hoax perpetrated by the Obama régime and its compliant media,
The White House and Pentagon boast that the targeted killing program is precise and that civilian deaths are minimal. However, documents detailing a special operations campaign in northeastern Afghanistan, Operation Haymaker, show that between January 2012 and February 2013, U.S. special operations airstrikes killed more than 200 people. Of those, only 35 were the intended targets. During one five-month period of the operation, according to the documents, nearly 90 percent of the people killed in airstrikes were not the intended targets.
Now then, what would St Augustine and Thomas Aquinas say? Then again they cannot violate their national security oath.
And lest the world find itself forgetful of the past, and is bent on looking only forward as the Nobel Peace Laureate President had exhorted his US citizens, reality again disappoints as the past revisits. That living symbol of US atrocities in Vietnam resurfaces, that child, now a suffering adult. Napalm.
That past finds itself not alone with the present. And on that we have that Henry Kissinger awarded a Nobel Prize for Peace and the incumbent US President, a similar recipient. In quite stark, ironic contrast that would embarrass most is the fact that Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a recipient of the award, and its deeds have more than justified that award.
Likely movie remakes in that post-Presidential career: ‘No weddings, only funerals’. ‘Some like it hot’. ‘The exodus’ (from Syria, Iraq, Libya, Somalia…)?
…a little over one presidential year to go, and so much more mischief not done…
